Mission Statement

It is the mission of the Lawrence Livermore Postdoc Association (LLPA) to promote a positive postdoc experience at LLNL through engaging social and professional events, communication, and outreach.

By postdocs and for postdocs, the LLPA at LLNL acts as a connection between the postdoctoral community and the management of the Laboratory. The purposes of the LLPA are to help foster a collaborative community environment among LLNL postdocs by providing opportunities for social and professional networking, career development, and community outreach, and to provide a forum for discussing issues postdocs may encounter and support in addressing those issues.

The LLPA provides a newsletter, hosts an annual barbeque in the summer, organizes off-site lunches and other social and professional activities throughout the year. The LLPA also develops and maintains a handbook and a web site that explore the Lab and the Bay Area. The council members organize activities, serve as a primary contact for peer support within the postdoc community, and maintain the connection between the LLPA and Laboratory management.

All postdocs at LLNL are encouraged to participate in activities and become active members of the LLPA. For more information about the LLPA, contact: postdoc-web@lists.llnl.gov
